The Evangelistic Ministries of Tony Pearce

Testimonies

God works in many ways through people who are devoted to serving Him. This area of the website is dedicated to sharing the testimonies of what God has done through Here Am I Send Me Ministries. Unless otherwise noted, the testimonies are written by Tony Pearce. Below you will see summaries of two of the recent mission trips, and we look forward to adding testimonies of what God will do in the next trip this summer.

Malawi Mission Trip 2002

In July of 2002 thirteen members of First Baptist Church, Altus, Oklahoma embarked on a mission trip to Malawi, Africa. The main purpose was to minister to 60 missionaries and their children. The missionaries from Altus were Charles Ortega, Kandy Newton, Renee Long, Alga Hitchcock, Marjorie Porter, Maureen Sutherland, Connie Mayes, Shirlen McDaniel, Martha Becerra, Nicole McGowan, and team leaders Sharon and John Yeats.

During the weekdays our team taught Vacation Bible School to the MK's and in the evenings our team conducted the praise music and worship services. Very strong relationships were established between our team members and the missionary families that in some cases will last a lifetime. Praise God!

Malawi Mission Trip 2003

In July 2003 a team of 6 missionaries from Oklahoma traveled to Malawi Africa to evangelize in the villages, markets, and public schools. Our team members from Washington Street Baptist Church in Hobart were Pastor Ronnie White, his wife Carolyn, and Bryan Gould. The other team members were Martha Becerra, Marjorie Porter and Tony Pearce of First Baptist Church of Altus. God exhibited his power in amazing ways saving multitudes in the villages and markets. In the public schools as many as 800 to 1000 students prayed to receive Christ at almost every service. The Lord truly left us in awe of him. May Jesus be high and lifted up.

Brazil Mission Trip 2004

In 2004, four missionaries traveled from FBC Altus for a two-week mission to Brazil. Our mission team consisted of Charles and Ramona Jeffries, Marjorie Porter, and I. Our sponsor and evangelist was Eugene Herndon from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our mission was to evangelize in the cities of Volta Redonda and Barra Mansa. It was a wonderful trip as we witnessed God’s power and mercy.

We had 1138 professions of faith and 548 rededications for a total of 1686 decisions for Christ. To God be the glory!

I thank my Lord for allowing me to establish new relationships with Pastor Joaquin and his wife, Anna, Pastor Shimines and family, Pastor Ivan Dias and his wife and all the wonderful interpreters. I would like to express a special gratitude to my brother in Christ, Ryan Stroupe. May God bless you richly.

Kenya Mission Trip 2005

In July of 2005 I went on mission to Malindi, Kenya. Malindi is a city located on the east coast of Kenya on the Indian Ocean. Our mission was to preach the “ good news” about Jesus in the schools and villages in the remote African bush country. Our team leader and IMB missionary was Arnold Tanner of Lubbock ,Texas. I served on a 16 member evangelism team that was hungry to win souls.

My team members from F.B.C. Altus, Oklahoma were Charles and Ramona Jeffries, Thure Tolson, Kaleb Ellison and I. Each morning the missionaries arrived at their assigned churches. From there we walked all morning with our interpreters to remote villages and homesteads. We were always greeted with honor and respect. Each greeter always brought out the best chair for us to sit on. We introduced ourselves and then preached Jesus. Several accepted Christ as their Savior every morning. After lunch we preached in the churches and headed towards the motel at about five o’clock p.m. Our mission was from July 14th to July 30th. During our stay we also preached in public schools leading as many as 200 to 800 children through the sinners prayer on each occasion. It was an awesome experience. We saw many miracles and heard many powerful testimonies. God was greatly glorified. Every day at 6:30 in the evening we carefully documented all the salvations and recommitments. At the end of the trip, we recorded 6,278 professions of faith, 132 recomittments, and 17 baptisms. Approximately 2,250 Gideon bibles were distributed. Our team also bought 26 new bycicles and 8 new Singer sewing machines for the Kenyan pastors and their wives.

To God be the glory for the great things He has done.
