There are many churches, many different beliefs, many gods in the minds of men, but the truth is there is only one true God. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made." The one and only God of the universe is holy, pure and all that is good. God created mankind in His image without sin. God’s enemy, Satan tempted man causing them to sin against God. That sin brought separation between man and his holy God. The curse of sin and death was passed down through the generations to you and me. God hates sin but loves mankind and His heart longs for their relationship to be restored. So God developed a plan. God sent His one and only Son Jesus Christ into this world in the form of a man.
Jesus was on a mission for the Father. His mission was to willingly die on a cross to pay for the sins of mankind. His motive for this mission was love. Jesus died on that cross but on the third day He rose from the dead. Jesus' resurrected body was seen by as many as 500 members of the surrounding community. The Bible says that we are all sinners. "There is none righteous, no, not one." (Romans 3:10) "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23 ) "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23) "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Jesus said about himself, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6) Jesus said, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3) "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Apostle Paul said, "That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10) Jesus said, "He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24)
The Bible says that if we turn from our sin and ask God to forgive us of our sins he will do so because he loves us. If you ask Jesus to come live in your heart and become your Lord and Savior, he is faithful to do it. When you accept God’s free gift of grace, in reality you are trading your sins for Jesus' righteousness. That’s the greatest decision a person can make during his time on earth. This surrendering of your life to God will rescue your soul from an eternal place of torment to a transforming and exciting personal relationship with the God of the universe through His Son Jesus Christ. From that moment, you will start living your life for him.
If you want to give your life to Jesus today, it is very simple. All you have to do is to pray this prayer out loud with sincerity. Dear Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God, that you died on a cross and that you rose from the dead. I confess that I am a sinner and I now ask you to forgive me of my sins. I invite you to come and live in my heart as my personal Lord and Savior. Fill me to overflowing with your Holy Spirit and teach me how to live my life in a way that pleases you. From this moment on I will live my life for you. Thank you so much for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer with sincerity, then you have just become an adopted child of God. The next step of obedience is to be scripturally baptized by immersion as the Bible says to be baptized. It is vital to your spiritual growth to read the Bible daily and to obey God’s word to the best of your ability. It is also imperative to pray daily, confessing sin, praying for others and for yourself. We must continually develop a lifestyle of praise and thanksgiving for who God is and for all that He has done. It is important to become a member of a local evangelical church and Sunday school. Make sure that the church you attend is preaching Bible truth in love under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Pray for God’s leadership in this matter. If you have prayed to receive Christ as your Savior, please write us and share with us about your new-found faith. We would love to hear your story so we can know how to pray for you. May Almighty God continually bless your walk with Him.
