Awesome news from Kenya:  approx. 3000 salvations and 1700 Bibles have been distributed.  Tony, Charles, and Nathan will serve together the next couple days.  They will be visiting several schools.  To say they are excited is an understatement.  Everyone seems to be doing well with the exception of fatigue.  Tony said they were all tired and in need of some rest, but there is work to be done.  They are thankful for all of your prayers and hope you will continue.  They are definately walking into the prayers all of you have been praying for them.

  • Below is an email I received from Tony on July 17th:
God is moving in Kenya once more as always. In my area there is a lot of spiritual opposition causing me to pray even more. Today on Tuesday I had 16 professions in the morning. I preached at a school and had about 55 professions of faith.  It was pretty awesome. Please pray against Satan because he was definitly opposing me the last two days.
  • On July 16th, Margaret Ortega received a call from Charles.  He said there had been 120 Salvations at that time.
  • KEEP on Praying….. I will keep you posted.

All of the team, including Tony Pearce, Charles Ortega, and Nathan Webb, arrived in Kenya on time as scheduled.  Everyone, including all the luggage (this is a big deal), made it to their destinations on Saturday.  Tony, Charles and Nathan went to town to set up email accounts, get phone cards, and exchange money.  While in town, Tony shared Christ with 2 who accepted Jesus as their Savior.  On Sunday the team of 8 all went to churches to share the gospel and encourage the members.  In the 3 churches where Tony, Charles, and Nathan served, there were no salvations, but Tony said they praised and worshiped the Lord with the church members.  He said it was an awesome time!  One of the team members had 18 pray to receive Chist.  (20 so far)

Tomorrow each member will begin their journey with a driver and an interpreter.  They will be sharing the gospel and preaching the “Good News”.

Prayer Request of the Team

  1.  Please pray for the hearts and souls of each person within hearing distance of each evangelist / team.
  2. Pray for health, safety, and divine opportunities for each member.
  3. Pray God’s Glory in all of it.

In Christ,

India Update (Monday Evening in India)

February 5, 2007 Filed under: Missions — Tony @ 10:14 am

Tony just called. As usual, he is pumped. It is 9:20 PM on Monday evening. Tony shared he prayed for an awesome last day of ministry and God provided. His team visited a very large school, Tony said thousands of kids, and was able to share the “Good News” and lead over 200 students to the Lord. He preached / shared the gospel in the individual classrooms. He said it was awesome. I will let him tell you the other things. The school kids and teachers put on quite a show and warm welcome for the team. They even had a band play for them.

Prayers: 1)Travel for all the teams back to the US. Specific prayer requests for Tony, Charles, and Ed.

2) Pray for their airline tickets and travel in India. (Tony said someone was getting that for them…. He is not a man of detail, just trusting God to make all the arrangements.

3) Safe Travel in the US with flights on time (The ladies don’t want any delays….).

4) Ministry will continue, without ceasing…. Just because the trip is over doesn’t mean the mission of sharing Christ is finished.

5) Pray for health, rest, and peace as they travel over the next 3 days.

In Christ,

Debbie

India Update 2-3-07 @ 8:15 PM

February 3, 2007 Filed under: Missions — Tony @ 7:18 pm

As I am writing this, Tony is preparing to preach the Sunday Morning services in India.  He has called several times the past few days with encouraging news of God’s provisions and glory.  Tony’s team will serve Sunday and Monday, then start their journey back to the U.S.   Tony visited a school on Saturday where he believed most or all of the children were followers of Christ.  Then they visited a couple orphanages that Tom and Kay Cox Ministries supports with spiritual and financial resources.  He was very taken by the children.  This was truely a blessing for Tony and the team.  He has many stories and testimonies to share when he gets home.  Please pray for the next 2 days on the mission field and safe travel home.

 In Christ,
Debbie

India Update 2-1-07 @ 10:00 AM

February 1, 2007 Filed under: Missions, Praises — Tony @ 11:30 am

Tony said they had another wonderful day on the mission field. He preached this morning and 49 made professions of faith. Then during the clinic, 46 more accepted Christ, making a total of 95 professions of faith. They prayed for and laid hands on many of the sick.Tony said they visited the vineyards in the area. The men who own / run the vineyards shared their testimonies of faith and how God had been blessing them. Tony said they ate grapes from the vineyards…WOW! They climbed a coconut tree and shook coconuts loose, then they cut the tops off the coconuts with a machete and drank the coconut milk.. Cool, huh? As they were leaving the vineyard, they passed a group of women who worked for the vineyard owners. Tony said he made a comment about sharing the gospel with them. The pastor he is serving with called them over and told Tony to share the good news with them. He said 7 of them prayed to receive Christ. He has shared with many of them about forsaking their God and the Hindu ways in order to serve the one true God.

He shared that the traffic is horrific. He said there were motorcycles, mopeds, etc… everywhere. Bangalore has a population of 6.4 million people. “There are people everywhere”, is his quote. If 4 lanes of cars are stopped, then the motorcycles will go in and out of traffic all around you. He said he filmed it, because if you didn’t see it, you just couldn’t image.

Prayer:

Pray for the mosquito situation. He said the mosquitos are bad and there are no nets. The nurse on Tony’s team has many bites and is itching pretty bad. They prayed with her tonight about the situation. They guys don’t seem to be bothered by them, but pray for them also.

Monday will be the last day of services and clinics. Pray for a harvest of souls during the next 4 days of ministry.

In Christ,

Debbie

India Update 9:45 AM 1-31-07

January 31, 2007 Filed under: Missions — Tony @ 10:12 am

Tony just called. It is 9:15 PM Wednesday evening. Tony told me they are traveling quite a distance from their camp so their time is limited for witnessing and doing the medical clinics; therefore, they are not doing the crusades. Instead, they are have a church service every morning, eating lunch, and then holding the clinics in the afternoon until about 4:00 PM. Tony is still pumped…. They had 90 Salvations this morning…. 53 during the church service and alter call, then 37 more after the service and further counseling. Tony is working with Pastor Debaucher (Probably not spelled right, but I am phonetic) and another evangelist by the name of Luis. He said their team is working great together with no problems.

As for the food, Tony said he thought he was going to starve to death in the beginning. He is not liking the food much in India, but is not complaining. The pastor went into town and got them some fruit and veges. He said they have had some good meals and he is not complaining, just not crazy for the India Cuisine.

This is pretty awesome, Tony shared with some of the ladies they could not serve Hindu and serve God. He said many peeled off their red dots as a sign they wanted to follow Christ. He was emotional as he told the story and is just so in awe and joyful worship for what God is doing in India.

Please continue to pray for them.

India Update 1-29-07 @ 8:55 PM

January 29, 2007 Filed under: Missions — Tony @ 9:57 pm

Tony and Charles were able to call home this morning, which was Monday afternoon for them.  Both of them are at their final destinations for the mission.  Both seemed rested and energetic.  They are excited to get on the mission field and do whatever God has for them.  We did not hear from Ed this morning, but will keep you posted on his journey.

Tony ate at KFC today at noon.  He was quite humored about traveling thousands of miles to a foreign country and eating at KFC.  He is so excited and anxious to get started.  As I am writing this they are starting their first full day on the mission field.  I can only imagine what God is going to do with Ed, Tony, and Charles.  The testimonies will be “most awesome”.

Keep praying for the mission teams (15-18 teams or 4 or 5) and the people of India.

To God be the glory,

Debbie

India Update 1-28-07 @ 5:20 PM

January 28, 2007 Filed under: Missions — Tony @ 6:24 pm

Ed and Charles are at or on their way to their final destinations in India where they will serve for a week.  As far as I know, Tony should be nearing his destination within the next 24 hours.  There have definately been challenges and “stretching” just in the journey of getting to India.  Charles’ plane could not fly due to fog and he was put on a 14 hour train ride to his final destination.  Ed is at his place of service, but has had little to no sleep in the past 48-72 hours.

Tony called at 12:15 AM on Sunday.  He was energetic and anxious for his next stage of his journey.  He still had a ways to go before his final destination.  Pray for their health, energy, and stamina.

Updates will follow as I get them.

In Christ,

Debbie
