India Update (Monday Evening in India)

February 5, 2007 Filed under: Missions — Tony @ 10:14 am

Tony just called. As usual, he is pumped. It is 9:20 PM on Monday evening. Tony shared he prayed for an awesome last day of ministry and God provided. His team visited a very large school, Tony said thousands of kids, and was able to share the “Good News” and lead over 200 students to the Lord. He preached / shared the gospel in the individual classrooms. He said it was awesome. I will let him tell you the other things. The school kids and teachers put on quite a show and warm welcome for the team. They even had a band play for them.

Prayers: 1)Travel for all the teams back to the US. Specific prayer requests for Tony, Charles, and Ed.

2) Pray for their airline tickets and travel in India. (Tony said someone was getting that for them…. He is not a man of detail, just trusting God to make all the arrangements.

3) Safe Travel in the US with flights on time (The ladies don’t want any delays….).

4) Ministry will continue, without ceasing…. Just because the trip is over doesn’t mean the mission of sharing Christ is finished.

5) Pray for health, rest, and peace as they travel over the next 3 days.

In Christ,

Debbie

India Update 2-3-07 @ 8:15 PM

February 3, 2007 Filed under: Missions — Tony @ 7:18 pm

As I am writing this, Tony is preparing to preach the Sunday Morning services in India.  He has called several times the past few days with encouraging news of God’s provisions and glory.  Tony’s team will serve Sunday and Monday, then start their journey back to the U.S.   Tony visited a school on Saturday where he believed most or all of the children were followers of Christ.  Then they visited a couple orphanages that Tom and Kay Cox Ministries supports with spiritual and financial resources.  He was very taken by the children.  This was truely a blessing for Tony and the team.  He has many stories and testimonies to share when he gets home.  Please pray for the next 2 days on the mission field and safe travel home.

 In Christ,
Debbie

India Update 2-1-07 @ 10:00 AM

February 1, 2007 Filed under: Missions, Praises — Tony @ 11:30 am

Tony said they had another wonderful day on the mission field. He preached this morning and 49 made professions of faith. Then during the clinic, 46 more accepted Christ, making a total of 95 professions of faith. They prayed for and laid hands on many of the sick.Tony said they visited the vineyards in the area. The men who own / run the vineyards shared their testimonies of faith and how God had been blessing them. Tony said they ate grapes from the vineyards…WOW! They climbed a coconut tree and shook coconuts loose, then they cut the tops off the coconuts with a machete and drank the coconut milk.. Cool, huh? As they were leaving the vineyard, they passed a group of women who worked for the vineyard owners. Tony said he made a comment about sharing the gospel with them. The pastor he is serving with called them over and told Tony to share the good news with them. He said 7 of them prayed to receive Christ. He has shared with many of them about forsaking their God and the Hindu ways in order to serve the one true God.

He shared that the traffic is horrific. He said there were motorcycles, mopeds, etc… everywhere. Bangalore has a population of 6.4 million people. “There are people everywhere”, is his quote. If 4 lanes of cars are stopped, then the motorcycles will go in and out of traffic all around you. He said he filmed it, because if you didn’t see it, you just couldn’t image.

Prayer:

Pray for the mosquito situation. He said the mosquitos are bad and there are no nets. The nurse on Tony’s team has many bites and is itching pretty bad. They prayed with her tonight about the situation. They guys don’t seem to be bothered by them, but pray for them also.

Monday will be the last day of services and clinics. Pray for a harvest of souls during the next 4 days of ministry.

In Christ,

Debbie
